Kimberly S. Harper, D.C.
Dr. Harper grew up in a small town in northwest Iowa and was introduced to chiropractic in high school after a sports injury. She received excellent care for the injury but more than that, was educated about the benefits of chiropractic for total body healthcare. After growing up as the kid who always “caught” whatever was going around and lost many days being home sick, this was quite the radical idea. Being taught that the nervous system controls the body and that the better the nervous system works, the better the body works actually made a lot of sense. It really hit home when after being under chiropractic care, she noticed that she didn’t seem to get sick very often any more. The spark was ignited, and she chose to become a chiropractor.
Her undergraduate, pre-med study was done at the University of Iowa and then doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Upon graduation in 1993, Dr. Harper began practice in the Indianapolis area and has continued to work with families on the north side ever since.
Dr. Harper has been married to her husband Dan for over 20 years and has 3 children, Hannah, Katie, and Matthew who have all been under chiropractic care since birth. Dr. Harper loves to share that even though all of her children attended daycare, none of them have ever had an ear infection or been on antibiotics which is pretty amazing in today’s climate. Natural healthcare can really make a huge difference!
Dr. Harper is active in her church, volunteers with the youth at the schools, and has been an active volunteer with community groups for over 20 years. A special project to her is a water well project for clean water in Africa.
Karen Mitchell, D.C.
Dr. Mitchell was born in Chicago, Illinois but she has called Hamilton County her home for the last 15 years. Dr. Mitchell was introduced to chiropractic when she was 19 years old after a gymnastics injury. After the gymnastics injury, she developed scoliosis and had migraines for several years. She was unable to do sports for a while after the injury. After Chiropractic care she no longer had scoliosis or migraines and she was able to return to her active lifestyle. Through this wonderful health transformation, Dr. Mitchell found passion and inspiration for her career as a Chiropractor. She wishes to help restore the health to her patients just as Chiropractic helped her.
Dr. Mitchell grew up with a compromised immune system and was constantly on antibiotics as a kid. Since she has been under regular chiropractic care she rarely gets sick. This makes sense since the nervous system controls the entire body and once the nervous system is properly functioning it influences the immune system.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, staying active, and listening to music. Dr. Mitchell does P90X, yoga, weight lifting, and swimming. She also enjoys cooking healthy meals and playing her clarinet and flute. She continuously strives to live a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy, staying active, and getting regular chiropractic care.
Her undergraduate degree was done at IUPUI in Spanish and Pre-Chiropractic studies and her doctorate was received from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Upon graduation, Dr. Mitchell opened up her own practice and then later merged her practice with Dr. Harper’s practice in 2020.
Dr. Mitchell is married to Jacob and has two stepdaughters, Selene and Amelia and a son named Ethan. Ethan has been under chiropractic since birth and her stepdaughters have been under care for the time span that she has been with Jacob. Ethan has never been on medication or antibiotics as he gets regularly adjusted. Dr. Mitchell also has 6 purebred Siamese cats whom she loves very much. Their names are Bella, Lyla, Merlin, Lily, Nala, and Luna.
Dr. Mitchell stays active in the community doing spinal screenings and kinesiotape applications at local events. She has been to several marathons, community events, and local businesses spreading the word of Chiropractic.
She is fluent in both English and Spanish and she loves the Hispanic culture and language. She looks forward to being able to continue to serve Hamilton County including the Hispanic community.
